Women’s Rights and Gender Justice
Recent studies suggest that people in Euro-Mediterranean region continue to experience gender-based violence more often than anywhere else in the world. In the last few years we have seen an increase of gender-based violence phenomena, which now take many forms, from cyber stalking to image abuse or even death threats. According to the United Nations, women are 27 times more likely than men to be harassed online. Acts of this kind too often go unpunished because they are disconnected from reality. Yet, women’s and LGBTIQ+ people’s rights must be guaranteed, both offline and online.
