- On 10 April 2024, the Turkish authorities announced that they had brought back the people who were on two rescue boats. These migrants were from Iran and Afghanistan.
- On 3 April 2024, in a question to the European Commission about the EU’s resettlement and humanitarian admission programme provided for in the agreement with Turkey in 2016, Commissioner Johansson provided some answers. She said that since 2016, 40,000 people have been welcomed in Europe through this scheme.
