  • Türkiye fears that escalating tensions with Iran could spark new refugee movements, raising concerns regarding renewed migration pressure toward Europe. Recalling the large migration movements seen during the 2015 Syria crisis. 
  • 1 April, 2026: A migrant boat capsized off the coast of Bodrum, Türkiye, after reportedly attempting to evade the Coast Guard. The vessel, carrying migrants across the Aegean Sea towards Europe, ignored warnings to stop and encountered rough waters, eventually sinking. At least 18 people died, 21 were rescued, and an unknown number remain missing as search efforts continue.
