- On May 26 2024, 37 people, including 4 children, were reportedly rescued by the Turkish Guards off the coast of Izmir. In a parallel operation, 29 people were arrested, according to an official statement.
- On May 20 2024, Turkish authorities claimed to have intercepted two lifeboats that were allegedly turned back by the Greek Coast Guard near Kalymnos.
