- On 20 and 21 March 2024, a total of nearly 800 migrants managed to cross the English Channel in “small boats” according to official statistics. One of these people has wounds that indicate a knife attack.
- On 18 March 2024, while criticism was mounting and debates were taking place in the British Parliament, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak persisted in signing the law for the deportation of asylum seekers to Rwanda. He has shown his intention to schedule the first deportations, contrary to international law, starting this spring.
- Between 2020 and 2024, according to IOM figures, 86 people lost their lives trying to reach the UK by boat from northern France.
