- On 31 March 2024, Bulgaria and Romania partially joined the Schengen Area. Land borders have been excluded for the time being, in particular to prevent the free movement of people on the move.
- On 27 March 2024, in an article published by the media EUobserver, migrants testify about their addiction to tranquilizers and psychotropic drugs that arose during their crossing of the Balkan route. As a reminder, NGOs such as MSF have often pointed to the overrepresentation of mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression among migrants.
- On 22 March 2024, the Asylum Protection Center reported systemic violence against refugees in Serbia. Near Belgrade, in the centre of Obrenovac where there are 69 people asking for wings, the NGO Border Violence Monitoring Network denounces the police attacks suffered by these people.
