To celebrate its 25th anniversary, EuroMed Rights has just published a booklet entitled “25 years in action, still gaining traction”. A look in the rear-view mirror at the Euro-Mediterranean relationship, from the 1995 Barcelona declaration to the 2021 EU’s New Agenda for the Mediterranean, and at EuroMed Rights’ main achievements over the past 25 years. A look straight ahead at how to implement its new strategy for 2022-2027, with members’ inputs gathered at a celebration event in October 2022. This second special 25th anniversary newsletter gives you a flavour of its content, to sharpen your appetite.
“For 25 years, we have been driven by a clear vision to promote human rights and democracy for all in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and we have been successfully in pursuing our mission to strengthen the collaboration between human rights organisations from the South, the East and the North of the Mediterranean, and to increase their influence at home and abroad,” stated Wadih Al-Asmar, President of EuroMed Rights.
The booklet also gives the floor to members who testify about their engagement and explain why EuroMed Rights is still a relevant and dynamic network to which they want to contribute in the coming years. “This booklet aims, first and foremost, to mobilise and energise our member and partner organisations to take an active role and collectively address the challenges faced by this turmoiled region,” added Rasmus Alenius Boserup, EuroMed Rights Executive Director.
