  • On the 11th of July, Belga News agency reported that the Belgian Minister on Asylum and Migration Anneleen Van Bossuyt proposed a bill, then approved by the Home Affairs Committee, imposing higher income thresholds for non-EU residency and asylum applicants. The bill does not predict an exception for bottleneck professions. Besides, for those who come to Europe to fill jobs with shortage of workers, such as in the healthcare sector, it might be impossible to obtain the right for family reunification.
