EuroMed Rights is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Finance Unit. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing accounting operations and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to join an international human rights network and contribute to sound financial management across our offices.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the CFO, the Senior Accountant will:
- Act as super user and owner of EMR’s new accounting software Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, as well as supporting implementation, staff training, maintaining data quality and supporting system structure.
- Manage high-level accounting operations and coordinate bookkeeping across EuroMed Rights offices, incl. coaching and supporting accountants located in EMR’s other offices.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with monthly management accounts and budget variance analysis.
- Support payroll reconciliation and maintain related financial entries and documentation.
- Assist with financial audits and maintain up-to-date records for reporting and compliance.
- Contribute to budget development and review of financial and procurement policies.
- Support procurement tasks and help reinforce internal compliance systems, particularly in relation to finance procedures.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the local office (Payroll, official filings, etc.)
Profile and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or financial roles and at least 2 years in an international NGO or grant-funded organization.
- Strong command of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- High proficiency in English (written and spoken); French or Arabic is desirable.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and donor requirements.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Experience in supporting procurement or HR administration is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Experience in cross-office collaboration within a multicultural environment is desirable.
