Call for Applications: Organizational Support Program

EuroMed Rights – “Empowering Civil Society to Fight Impunity”    

EuroMed Rights (EMR), the Human Rights Association (İHD), and the Human Rights Joint Platform (İHOP) are pleased to announce the launch of the Organizational Support Programme as part of the EU-funded project “Empowering Civil Society to Fight Impunity.” 

This initiative comes to provide small-scale financial support to human rights organizations in Türkiye, aiming to enhance their operational capacities and strengthen their sustainability.  

 Objective of the Program: 

This program aims to support 15 human rights organizations in Türkiye by providing them with an amount of 2,500 EUR each, in order to ensure the continuation of their essential human rights activities in an increasingly challenging environment in Türkiye. 

Eligibility of the organizations: 

  • Organizations with legal personalities as associations or foundations will be eligible for this support. Given the restrictive political situation in Türkiye; natural persons can also apply for this financial support in collaboration with an organisation.  
  • Organizations from outside Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir are highly recommended to apply for this program.  

Eligibility of the activities: 

  1. Capacity building of the organisation, including training, panels, and workshops;
  2. Monitoring and documentation activities, including training on the subject;
  3. Awareness raising and/or visibility of the activities carried out by the organisations;
  4. Strengthening civil society networks and leveraging solidarity and cooperation among civil human rights actors at local levels;
  5. Field and desktop research activities on the areas listed above, including publication of the outputs, 
  6. Trial observation related activities

This list is final—no other types of activities will be eligible. Additionally, certain costs are not covered under this support, including (but not limited to) the purchase of computers or other electronic equipment, hotel accommodations, meals, and similar expenses. Priority Areas of Work: 

Applicants should be primarily working in one or more of the following areas: 

  1. Personal security and protection 
  2. Combatting impunity 
  3. Torture and ill-treatment 
  4. Accountability mechanisms 
  5. Monitoring/documenting violations of freedom of expression, association, assembly, and gender equality 
  6. Prisons 

Submission Instructions:  

Organizations who wish to apply for this financial support program need to send a letter of a maximum of two pages that needs to contain the following information:  

  • The name of the organization
  • Contact details: name and email of the main contact person, general email address, and phone number (if available) 
  • Website and/or social media channels (if applicable) 
  • City and country where the organization is based 
  • Location(s) where the proposed activity will take place 
  • Thematic focus of the proposed activity (e.g. women’s rights, anti-discrimination, freedom of expression, legal aid, etc.) 
  • Brief description of the proposed activity: include the target group, main objective, expected outcomes, and a short explanation of why your organization is well-placed to carry out this activity. 

EMR will take the lead in providing organisational support in collaboration with implementing partners IHD & IHOP.
