Purpose of the consultancy

EuroMed Rights is looking to recruit a Palestine Advocacy Consultant to be integrated in its Brussels office within the framework of the project “Provision of comprehensive and inclusive legal aid support to the Palestinian population of East Jerusalem”. The Project is implemented by the Jerusalem Human Rights Consortium and aims at protecting and supporting the marginalised Palestinian communities of East Jerusalem from displacement, safeguarding their legal status and rights and empowering them to remain resilient in the face of discriminatory policies.The Consultant will support the advocacy component of the project as part of the Advocacy Team at EuroMed Rights, acting as the advocacy focal point for all consortium members to ensure effective coordination and representation at EU level.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

Under the supervision of the Advocacy Director, the consultant will: 

Implement and support the joint advocacy strategy on Palestine in line with the project objectives; support the development, review, and adaptation of the advocacy strategy and monitoring framework.
Monitor EU and Member State policies, communications, and developments related to Palestine, providing timely analysis and updates to consortium members.
Coordinate the development of joint advocacy messages, policy briefs, and position papers in consultation with consortium partners.
Identify and advise on advocacy opportunities within EU institutions and other relevant fora.
Facilitate communication and engagement between consortium members and Brussels-based actors.
Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of advocacy-related project activities.
Support the implementation of relevant advocacy activities, including drafting letters and briefing papers.

Profile, Skills and Background

University Degree in international relations, political science, law, human rights, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in advocacy or public affairs, preferably with an NGO/INGO.
Demonstrated understanding of EU institutions and policy processes. 
Proven experience in human rights or Middle East-related advocacy. Focus on Palestine is a strong asset.
Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills in English. 
Computer literacy in Word (at least basic Excel knowledge is required).
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to details.
Self-motivated, well-organised, able to work independently and efficiently under pressure.

Desirable:

Working knowledge of French and/or Arabic.
Established network with EU and Brussels-based stakeholders on Middle East policy.
Experience in coalition-building and multi-stakeholder advocacy initiatives.
