  • On 10 September 2025, the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) released Volume 4 of their report “TORTURE ROADS: Human rights violations suffered by people on the move”. The study, titled ‘Torture Roads Vol n°4 : Children on the move in Tunisia’ , covers the period of November 2024 to April 2025 and offers an overview of the extent and nature of human rights violations faced by people on the move who reside in or transit through Tunisia. A particular focus of the report is the impact of human rights violations on children on the move. 
  • On July 31 2025, Giorgia Meloni, Italian Prime Minister, paid a state visit to Tunisia to meet with her counterpart Kaïs Said, President of the Republic. The latter referred to “the need for joint mobilization of all parties concerned with a view to organizing airlifts for the voluntary return of irregular migrants present on Tunisian soil, as well as dismantling the criminal networks that exploit them and trade in their organs.” He also stated that migrants were treated “humanely” during the brutal operations to dismantle the camps.  
  • On July 27 2025, Nawaat dedicated an article in honor of Dr. Abdallah Saïd. Head of the Enfants de la Lune de Médenine association and a respected doctor in the region, he is accused of “money laundering, forming a criminal organization, and undermining the external security of the state.” While he is in prison, the case has been under investigation by the Judicial Counterterrorism Unit since November 2024. The article highlights the integrity, dedication, and transparency of an activist whose work on behalf of migrant children is to be commended.
