According to a report by newsbook Malta from 6 November 2025, 62 people were experiencing ‘urgent distress’ in Malta’s search and rescue zone, as their rubber boat started to lose air. While Alarm Phone alerted Maltese and Italian rescue authorities on 5 November, they did not respond. An aircraft operated by Sea Watch tried to locate the vessel but was unable to do so. According to the latest update by AlarmPhone, the boat subsequently drifted toward the Libyan coast.
