  • Switzerland will support Cyprus’s migration strategy with 10 million francs (10.7 million euros), CyprusMail reported on 21 November 2025. The agreement was signed by Deputy Migration Minister Nicholas Ioannides and Swiss ambassador Hendrik Krauskopf, and is set to strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as providing financial and technical support to Cyprus.  
  • Cyprus will  prioritise migration as a key topic for its presidency of the Council of the European Union, which it will assume on 1 January 2026, euobserver reported on 30 October 2025. Cypriot deputy minister for migration and international protection, Nicholas A. Ioannides, lauded the EU Pact for Migration as ‘an important step forward’ and announced his country would prioritise cooperation with non-EU third countries, particularly its Mediterranean neighbours, to establish ‘return hubs’ and voluntary return programs.
