- On 23 January 2024, the EU renewed its association agreement with Egypt during the 10th EU-Egypt Association Council meeting. Despite structural human rights violations by Abdelfattah al-Sissi’s regime, the EU will provide 87 million EUR to Egypt in 2024 for a migration management project launched in 2022.
