  • On July 7, Ankara announced that more than 1 million of Syrians came back to Syria voluntarily. 
  • On July 3, a boat  carrying 19 passengers, 14 adults and five unaccompanied minors from Syria has been identified by the Police. People have ben transferred to the reception centre in Pournara
  • Abdallah Bou Habib, outgoing Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, declared on 28 June that Lebanon would abstain from voting on the resolution on a project to create an independent institution to deal with the issue of persons reported missing or subjected to enforced disappearance in Syria at the UN.
  • More and more Lebanese leaders, even those hostile to the Damascus regime, are pushing for Syrians to return to Syria.
  • The Lebanese armed forces deported thousands of Syrians, including unaccompanied children, to Syria between April and May 2023, without taking into account their refugee status or their fear of persecution if they returned.
