  • The Canary Islands continue to be a major point of entry for migrants from Africa. There were 3,223 arrivals in the Spanish archipelago between 1 and 15 January 2025. This figure is 7.4% lower than for the same period in 2024.
  • The Balearic Government is considering asking Frontex for help due to a surge in irregular immigration, with 5,924 arrivals in 2024, a 160% increase.
