  • On 30 September, the Tunisian coastguard recovered 15 bodies, including three babies, after a shipwreck off Djerba. The boat set off with 60 people on board, 31 of whom were rescued, and the others are missing. 
  • On 26 September, InfoMigrants revealed that it has become common practice for the Tunisian coastguard to confiscate boats and force people to swim back to shore when they are pushed back.
  • On 25 September, the Tunisian coastguard found 13 bodies about 142 km from Lampedusa.
  • On 24 September, a collective of family members asked the International Criminal Court (ICC) to look into assaults on Black African migrants in Tunisia.
  • On 19 September, the Guardian published a new investigation showing how the EU is funding security forces in Tunisia that are systematically committing sexual abuse. Several hundred sub-Saharan migrant women have been raped by Tunisian security forces over the past 18 months.
