  • On 24-26 November, at least 340 migrants aboard five boats were rescued off the coasts of El Hierro and Tenerife.
  • On 19 November the Spanish government approved a new reform of the Immigration Act, which will simplify the requirements for foreigners to obtain residence and work permits and  legalize around 300,000 undocumented migrants per year over the next three years.
  • On 19 November, the Senegalese Navy has announced that it has intercepted nearly a thousand migrants at sea off the coast of Senegal in the space of a month. It last intervened on 18 November, when 119 people were arrested aboard a pirogue on the Canary Islands Sea route.
  • On 18 November, two bodies of suspected migrants were found at El Ejido in southern Spain. The Red Cross also assisted several boats arriving in the same region on the same day and said at least one person had been injured.
