On 30 May a shipwreck off Tunisia killed 13 people out of the 41 that had boarded the ship. The survivors were returned to Tunisia. 
On 15 May Interior Minister Feki and President Saied received Italian Interior Minister Piantedosi to discuss migration flows from Tunisia. On the agenda were aid, assistance, support in intelligence activities and joint repatriation programs to stop migrant trafficking and to stem the influx of irregular arrivals.
A study published by Save the Children reveals that one in three girls migrating to or through Libya, Tunisia and Morocco experienced of witnessed sexual abuse or other forms of gender-based violence while fleeing their home countries.
