On April 14, the Office of the General Commissioner for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGRS) published Belgium’s asylum figures for March 2023. According to Politico, the Office is failing to deal with the increasing backlog of asylum applications due to a lack of employees, as around 21,000 asylum files in Belgium are awaiting decision.
