On April 12, the Conservatives declared they consider the Greek migration policy as a model. Some laws are applied in Greece and now are being debated in the UK : using disused military bases to house asylum seekers, pushbacks, etc.
On April 5, the UK government announced that it would house 500 asylum seekers, whose applications are being assessed, in a floating barge to (i) save money, (ii) reduce pressure on hotels, (iii) dissuade migrants. The barge would be located in the south of England (Portland). The week before this announcement, the government announced that disused military camps could also be used.
