- On 7 December a boat with 30 people on board sank on its way to Greece. Most were rescued by the Turkish coastguards, 5 bodies were found and 1 people is still missing.
- On 5 December, the Turkish coastguard rescued 75 people, including 25 children, from four drifting life rafts. The people were first rescued by the Greek coastguard, who forced them into the lifeboats and pushed them back to Turkey.
