  • On April 14, the Association for Legal Studies on Immigration (ASGI) published a  report highlighting abusive practices related to migration control policies in Morocco. Migrants – particularly those with international protection status, minors, people in vulnerable situations and sub-Saharan African nationals – are at risk of arbitrary detention, internal deportations and restrictions on their communications with their families and lawyers. The organisation also highlights a correlation between these violations and the process of externalisation of European borders, “supported by substantial funding from the European Union in favour of Morocco for the control of migratory flows”.
