  • On April 22, the Life Support vessel, operated by the NGO Emergency, disembarked 82 migrants, including 11 women, at the port of Ravenna on the Adriatic coast. They had been rescued five days earlier off the coast of Libya. According to the organization, the group had spent over 14 hours adrift at sea in an overcrowded and deteriorating rubber dinghy. 
  • Over the weekend of April 19–20, 200 migrants were rescued in the central Mediterranean. They were traveling in three separate boats. NGOs such as Sea-Eye provided initial medical assistance before the individuals were brought ashore by the Italian coast guard.  
  • On April 12, 72 people departed from western Libya and have not been heard from for several days. Italian journalist Sergio Scandura shared the information on X, expressing deep concern for their fate. He noted that the maritime area between western Libya and Lampedusa had recently been affected by severe weather and rough seas. 
  • On 2 April, Libya announced that it was suspending the activities of 10 international humanitarian organisations. It accuses these organisations of carrying out “hostile” actions with the aim of “changing the demographic composition of the country” by “implanting migrants” from sub-Saharan Africa on its soil.
