  • On 14 October, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights issued a statement expressing concern for the safety of migrants, refugees and victims of trafficking in Tunisia. People on the move are subjected to systematic violence during pushback operations, abandoned in desert areas, raped, etc. The experts have been in contact with the Tunisian authorities and the European Union on this issue.
  • On 13 October, refugees in Libya reported that police were present at every train station in Tunisia to prevent any dark-skinned person from boarding trains or public transport.
  • On 12 October, in a context of increasing violence against migrants in Tunisia, a migrant from Guinea was shot dead by a Tunisian for no reason.
