  • On March 08, 2024, the vessel SEA-EYE 4 rescued more than 140 people on the move near Malta. On board, two babies were in critical condition. The ship was heading for the port of Ancona.
  • On March 05, 2024, nearly 100 asylum seekers from Libya landed in Rome before being relocated to different refugee centres in Italy. Many have experienced torture and dehumanizing trafficking in Libyan prisons.
  • On March 04, 2024, the Italian authorities ordered the detention of the SOS Humanity 1 vessel for 20 days. The order comes after the NGO rescued nearly 80 people in distress in the Mediterranean Sea. 
  • On February 26, 2024, the village of Cutro commemorated the death of 94 migrants on its beaches and the disappearance of an even higher number. On February 26, 2023, 60 meters from the end of a journey initiated in Turkey, a precarious wooden boat carrying 200 people capsized off the coast of Calabria, taking with it the lives of children and adults from Somalia, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria and Afghanistan.
