Remuneration: According to EuroMed Rights’ salary scale, based on years of experience

Pre-requisite: Valid working permit in Denmark

EuroMed Rights is looking for a dynamic, dedicated and experienced Accounting and Administration Officer, who will be responsible for bookkeeping and accounting, incl. payroll accounting, maintaining and monitoring financial records and resolving accounting discrepancies as well as administrative tasks related to office management. The daily workplace for the Accounting and Administration Officer is EuroMed Right’s main office in central Copenhagen.

Tasks and assignments

Accounting and Administration Officer will work, under the supervision of, and, according to priorities set by the Finance and Administration Director, and will be responsible for:

Bookkeeping and accounting

  • Checking accuracy and coding of invoices/payment requests and entering payment/transfer orders
  • Coordinating monthly payroll, posting of payroll data
  • Assisting with per diem calculations, (travel) reimbursement requests and credit card reports
  • Processing all GL entries into Navision accounting system
  • Posting any accruals, allocations, prepayments and correcting entries
  • Maintaining Navision system, incl. inputting FX rates, updates of chart of accounts and dimensions structure
  • Raising invoices and contacting debtors, collecting membership fees
  • Maintaining bookkeeping, and coordinating bookkeeping by EuroMed Rights offices
  • Being responsible for petty cash
  • Assisting in looking into possibility of transition to managing paperless authorisation of expenses


  • Supporting preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and analysis of variances monthly and ytd
  • Assisting in monthly quarterly and year end reconciliations for various bank accounts and credit cards
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliation
  • Helping with preparation of documents requested for annual audit as well as project audits
  • Participation in updating the finance manual and proposals for improving financial procedures
  • Assists in performing quality checks on data, analysing administrative deficiencies in relation to book-keeping
  • Participating in budget preparations


  • Maintaining updated list of vendor, members, and tenants, assist in drafting relevant contracts
  • Coordinating of filing and correspondence of EuroMed Rights contractual relations with partners, researchers
  • Keeps accounts of stocks (books, furniture, etc.), assist with maintaining of office inventory
  • Assisting with procurement of office supplies
  • Maintains relations with landlord and subtenants in Copenhagen
  • Maintain contact to insurance company in relation to travel, office and work.
  • HR administration, incl. sick and maternity arrangements, contact point for payroll agency Bluegarden
  • Other admin and ad hoc tasks delegated by the Finance and Administration Director

Profile, skills and background

  • relevant qualification and at least 2 years of work experience as an accountant
  • experience with payroll accounting. Knowledge of HR regulations in Denmark is considered an asset
  • experienced user of Excel – including pivot tables and look up formulas
  • proficient in oral and written English and Danish. French is considered an asset
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as facilitation and technical skills
  • proven ability to manage and prioritise tasks
  • motivated, organised and a self-starter
  • knowledge of accounting application (preferably Navision)
  • knowledge of the NGO sector (preferably at an international level)
